How to create a new event or location.
The event creation page allows you to add a new event or location to your system. This page is accessible only to authenticated users.
How to Create an Event or Location
- Access the Create Event Page
- Navigate to the events/locations management section.
- Click the Create event button to open the creation form.
- Fill in the Event or Location Details
- Complete the form fields as required. The form will prompt you for all necessary information about the event or location.
- Save the Event or Location
- After filling in the details, click the save button. You will be redirected back to the events/locations list upon successful creation.
Event Types: One Time Events vs. Locations
- One Time Event: Represents a specific event that occurs on a particular date or within a defined date range. Use this for tournaments, competitions, or any event with a set schedule.
- Location: Represents a physical venue or place where events can be held. Locations can be reused for multiple events and help organize your event data by venue.
When creating an event, choose the appropriate type based on whether you are adding a unique event or a reusable location.
Event/location image
When creating, you can upload an image, for example a flyer or logo. This image will be shown on the tournament listing when the event is published.
Because of this, it is important to keep things organized and not use a location for multiple events as that might confuse players seeing the wrong image.
Tips
- Ensure all required fields are completed before saving.
- Use clear and descriptive names for both events and locations to make management easier.
- After saving, you can further manage or edit the event/location from the events/locations list.
